Vista Land to build 5th condo building in Davao Northpoint

DAVAO CITY — Villar-led Camella Communities is expanding its Northpoint condominium here with the construction of a fifth building in the next four months .

The additional 10-storey building with 200 units will bring the total number of condominium units to 1,000 all housed within the 2.8-hectare compound, according to Marlon Nino B. Escalicas, Northpoint manager. Mr. Escalicas, in an interview with BusinessWorld, said the decision to put up another building was made against a backdrop of brisk sales despite competition from other developers building condominium projects in the city.
“ There are only a few units left (to be sold in the fourth building),” he said. The developer, a subsidiary of listed Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc., is also currently negotiating with possible locators for lease of its commercial spaces within the complex. Northpoint could have coffee shops, spas, specialty shops and other retailers that offer products that are not in shopping malls and commercial complexes, Mr. Escalicas said.
